R2 Concrete Solutions was established to fulfill a great need in the very niche and specialized market of concrete consulting and testing. We aim to serve all sectors that engage concrete including the construction, ready mix and quarries industries as well as corporates with large construction projects for the residential, commercial and industrial markets. We specialize in a comprehensive range of concrete services, including expert guidance on determining concrete mix proportions for all concreting disciplines, site consulting service related to all aspects of concrete quality control, advice regarding good concrete practice, trouble-shooting for remedial proposals and on the job training. In the unlikely event of a dispute due to suspect test outcomes, R2 CONCRETE SOLUTIONS are equipped to carry out independent surveys with respect to non-destructive testing, backed up by core drilling services if needs be. In addition, we can manage the entire process and ensure core specimens are tested to BS EN 12504-1, including specimen analysis. All the necessary equipment used by R2 CONCRETE SOLUTIONS is fully calibrated to successfully complete integrated, comprehensive concrete tests and to evaluate both the plastic and hardened properties of concrete.

Ryan Burnell, the owner of R2 Concrete Solutions, has been working in the Concrete Industry for over 13 years. In Southern Africa his initial development in Concrete saw him in positions such as Lab Manager, Tech Controller and Central Lab Manager. His drive to expand his knowledge saw him move to Scotland where he has held a position of Tech Manager. His Southern African and UK concrete experience combined with both his research knowledge (Obtained at the LaFarge Research Centre in France) and Lead & Internal auditing qualifications, renders him diverse and competent to deal with all aspects involving concrete. Ryan has studied at the Concrete Institute of the UK, is Lead & Internal QMS Auditing qualified, and concrete research proficient. He continues to expand his academic and professional knowledge, as new technologies become available. Concrete is his passion and he has an unprecedented drive to expand the industry in Scotland.
